2009 Jumpstart the Conversation Grants

In 2009, Partners for Livable Communities and MetLife Foundation handed out 24 Jumpstart Grants to organizations in he Chattanooga Region, San Antonio Region, St. Louis Region, and Miami-Dade & Monroe Counties. 

As part of the second component of the workshops, these grants gave the opportunity for local groups to partner and take community-wide action on Aging in Place. Partners awarded partnerships, tied to the workshop communities in the Aging in Place Initiative, a small grant each to create an action plan to solve a problem relating to Aging in Place or an opportunity for the initiative to prosper in the community.

Chattanooga, TN Grantees                       

Two major programs and partnerships in the Chattanooga Region were each awarded a "JumpStart the Conversation" grant in September 2009. The winning projects exemplify the use of innovative ideas focused on creating livable communities for all ages and the theme of Building Partnerships.

Greater Miami, FL Grantees

Eight organizations and partnerships in Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties were each awarded a "JumpStart the Conversation" grant on February 2, 2009. The winning projects exemplify the use of innovative ideas focused on creating livable communities for all ages and theme of "transportation and mobility options."
