Partners’ board member Mick Fleming, President of American Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE), contributed a cover article to the Winter edition of their publication, Chamber Executive. Mr. Fleming sought to contribute to the thinking and discussion around what makes a person influential.
One salient example, selected for recognition because of his innovativeness, is Aaron Nelson of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Chamber of Commerce. Nelson developed a certification program for sustainability, and thereby helped to draw the connection between sustainability and economic competitiveness. This connection is a message that Partners, too, seeks to help articulate and advance.
Mr. Fleming concludes by emphasizing the common thread of skills freely shared with others, reinforcing his message of teamwork in advancing shared values.
